Get information from any government department or public authority. We frame your RTI application with precise, answerable questions (vague ones get rejected), address it to the correct PIO, and handle the fee details. No reply or a poor reply? Draft your first appeal in minutes.
Any citizen of India can file an RTI application under Section 6 of the Right to Information Act, 2005 to seek information from a public authority. You do not have to give a reason for seeking the information.
The Public Information Officer must normally respond within 30 days of receiving the application (48 hours where it concerns the life or liberty of a person). If there is no reply or the reply is unsatisfactory, you can file a first appeal.
The application fee is ₹10 for Central public authorities (State fees vary). Applicants below the poverty line (BPL) are exempt on producing proof. Additional charges may apply for photocopies of records.
You can file a First Appeal under Section 19(1) to the First Appellate Authority within 30 days of the PIO's decision. If still unresolved, a Second Appeal lies to the Central or State Information Commission within 90 days.
Ask specific, factual, answerable questions and request certified copies where needed. Vague, argumentative, or opinion-seeking questions are commonly rejected — our drafter sharpens your queries into clear, numbered points.
